I would still recommend you tell Cliff what you think. You may be the first person who has ever been that fair with him. I think he may need to switch professions; we usually say what we think and believe. But someday, when you find yourself in his position, remember how this felt to you. Make sure no student of yours ever hears or sees the things you’ve described here.
