EMS World and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) have established the National EMS Awards of Excellence program to recognize outstanding achievement in the EMS profession.
The nomination period for this year's awards program is now open. Award recipients will be announced in the September 2013 issue of EMS World Magazine and recognized at EMS World Expo in Las Vegas, NV, September 10–12, 2013. Nominations are due by June 14, 2013.
Dick Ferneau Paid EMS Service of the Year sponsored by Ferno
Recognizes outstanding performance by a paid EMS service.
Impact Volunteer EMS Service of the Year sponsored by Impact
Recognizes outstanding performance by a volunteer EMS service.
NAEMT | Braun Industries EMT of the Year
Sponsored by Braun Industries, recognizes an emergency medical technician who demonstrates excellence in the performance of emergency medical services, with their primary role being that of prehospital patient care.
NAEMT | Nasco Paramedic of the Year
Recognizes a paramedic who demonstrates excellence in the performance of emergency medical services, with their primary role being that of prehospital patient care.
NAEMT | Jones & Bartlett EMS Educator of the Year
Referred to as the "Unsung Hero Award" this award is presented by NAEMT to an educator from around the world in recognition of their contributions to the EMS community.
Award recipients will receive a monetary award, three core program registrations, plus $1,100 for travel and lodging at the EMS WORLD EXPO/NAEMT Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, NV, September 10–12, 2013, and will be recognized by all of the participating organizations.
