EMS World and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) have established the National EMS Awards of Excellence program to recognize outstanding achievement in the EMS profession. Other organizations participating include the National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE) and the National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA).
The nomination period for this year's awards program is now open. Award recipients will be announced in the November 2012 issue of EMS World Magazine and recognized at EMS World Expo in New Orleans, LA, October 31-November 2. Nominations are due by July 2, 2012.

Impact Volunteer EMS Service of the Year sponsored by Impact
Recognizes outstanding performance by a volunteer EMS service.
NEMSMA EMS Executive of the Year
Recognizes outstanding performance by an EMS manager.
NAEMT EMT of the Year sponsored by Braun Industries
Sponsored by Braun Industries, recognizes an emergency medical technician who demonstrates excellence in the performance of emergency medical services, with their primary role being that of prehospital patient care.
NAEMT Paramedic of the Year sponsored by Nasco
Recognizes a paramedic who demonstrates excellence in the performance of emergency medical services, with their primary role being that of prehospital patient care.
NAEMSE EMS Educator of the Year sponsored by Cengage/Delmar
Referred to as the "Unsung Hero Award" this award is presented by NAEMSE to an educator from around the world in recognition of their contributions to the EMS community.
Award recipients will receive a monetary award, three core program registrations, plus $1,000 for travel and lodging at the EMS WORLD EXPO/NAEMT Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA, October 31–November 2, 2012, and will be recognized by all of the participating organizations.
