Since, 2005 the United States Army and Air Force have trusted Ready-Heat warming blankets to prevent hypothermia in trauma patients on the battlefield. Recognizing the benefits of active warming technology, the U.S. military made the Ready-Heat blankets the protocol in preventing and treating shock and hypothermia. Based on the military specifications of the Ready-Heat 4 panel & 6 panel models, the Ready-Heat II blanket was developed.
Ready-Heat II, and popular Infant Cocoon are provided to the EMS world through our medical distribution partners, such as Bound Tree Medical, Life-Assist, Southeastern Emergency Equipment, Moore Medical, EMP and Henry Schein. Currently the Ready-Heat II & Infant Cocoon are used by EMS personnel, search & rescue teams and fire departments throughout the United States.
The blankets are individually vacuum sealed, ensuring a 5 year shelf life. When the bag is opened, the heating process is activated by air exposure. The blankets are designed to reach their target temperature of 100° in 8-10 minutes, providing a steady source of active heat for 6 hours. The 6 hour lifespan enables product usage from the place of the incident, and throughout the patient care process.
Active warming of patients is a proven need in the transport of patients, and the Ready-Heat II blanket was designed to meet and exceed patient and first responder needs.
