Maureen L. Bruce, APRN-BC, EMT-P, EMS-I

Maureen L. Bruce, APRN-BC, EMT-P, EMS-I, was a professor and coordinator of the EMT-paramedic certificate program at Naugatuck Valley Community Technical College, and is a board- certified family nurse practitioner. She has over 25 years' experience in teaching prehospital emergency care at hospitals, EMS services, colleges and universities throughout Connecticut. She was a state-certified EMS instructor, is a licensed paramedic, serves on a local fire/EMS service, and manages medication for children afflicted with behavioral and psychiatric conditions. She also practices internal medicine and primary care on a 17-bed inpatient psychiatric unit at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT. Ms. Bruce has published numerous articles for EMS and nurse practitioner journals. She is on the advisory board of the Nurse Practitioner Journal and reviews a variety of medical articles pre-publication in various nursing journals. Contact her at mbruce@hungerford.org.
