Mass Violence: Planning and Response Considerations

Primary Audience: Law Enforcement, Investigators, Emergency Management, EMS, Fire, Analysts and Public Safety Special Response/Operations Teams.

Secondary Audience: School & College Crisis Officials, Corporate Safety & Security, Risk Management, Military Responders, Healthcare and Disaster Planners.

Session on critical incidents such as workplace violence attacks, school shootings, mass shootings, domestic violence spill-over attacks, extremist threats and other incidents are occurring with alarming frequency. These events can occur in the workplace, business/industry, large occupancy facilities, college/university campuses, K-12 school grounds or other public locations. Course will cover the following topics:

  • Threat Assessments
  • Shooters (Schools, Workplace, Domestic Violence, Extremists, etc.)
  • Pre-Incident Planning
  • Multi-Agency Response Operations
  • Crisis Management
  • Command Considerations
  • Scene Safety
  • "Lessons Learned"
