SUMMARY:Emergency Management of the Stroke Patient
DESCRIPTION:The Georgia Health Sciences Medical Center will host a free stroke education conference for emergency management services providers.
“Our goal is to give EMS responders a chance to walk through the same steps that our stroke patients go through. What they do matters, and they are a very vital part of our team,” said Holly Hula, a neuroscience nurse educator at Georgia Health Sciences.
The conference will cover pre-hospital and interventional stroke care. Hands-on learning in a simulation lab will help responders differentiate between a stroke and conditions that mimic stroke such as low blood sugar. The course will also include a tour of the hospital’s state-of-the-art angiography suite.
The course carries four continuing education units and lunch is provided. Register by phone at 706/825-4747 or online at georgiahealth.org. -- More Info @ Link: http://www.georgiahealth.org -- Phone: 706/825-4747 -- Email: hhula@georgiahealth.edu --
