Rural/Metro's Social Media Recruitment Blitz Hits Times Square

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (July 29, 2011)--Rural/Metro Corporation and its operations throughout the country launched a social media campaign today to help make Rural/Metro the employer of choice for the private, outsourced EMS and fire protection industry.

"We want to hire the very best talent at all levels of the organization and create an environment where opportunities are plentiful and careers are made," said Michael DiMino, President & Chief Executive Officer. "We want to raise awareness about Rural/Metro and encourage potential job applicants to make a career with us. The Times Square ad and simultaneous job postings via social media have already generated additional buzz about the company. We've made it known that we're looking for talented individuals to join our organization."

The idea for the campaign began when Reema Makani Boccia, Rural/Metro's Public Information Officer in San Diego, won a drawing at a local Public Relations Society of America event. The prize was an ad on PR Newswire's Times Square electronic billboard, which is considered prime advertising space in one of the biggest cities in the world. Rural/Metro's ad reads: "Make A Difference. Make Rural/Metro Your Career Choice. 20 States. 450 Cities."

The message will rotate today for 15-second increments during morning and evening drive times. Simultaneously, Rural/Metro's PR team across the country has launched a social media blitz on Facebook to post jobs openings throughout the country.
