Two EMS crew members were unloading a disabled student from their First Care ambulance this Monday when a Metro bus rolled over them and killed one of them, reports WLWT.com.
The incident took place outside of Woodward High School.
Cincinnati police spokesperson Sgt. Danita Kilgore told the TV station that the driver of the ambulance died in the accident, and the second crew member was transported to University Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Their identities were not immediately released.
Kilgore reported that the special needs student was not hurt in the incident, nor were any other students present at the time.
Metro spokesperson Sally Hilvers said the bus driver had gone to the back of the bus to deal with an incident when the vehicle started to roll, and investigators are now looking into the cause of the accident.
