COLLIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. --
Police said a man threatening to kill himself fell over a cliff when they were forced to use a Taser on him in Collier Township.
Collier Township police officers responded to a call for a man threatening suicide at about 8 p.m. on Monday.
Officials said the man took off and led them on a chase through the area.
When police caught up with him, he tried to fight them off so they were forced to use a Taser on him.
Emergency crews at the scene said after being hit with the Taser, the man fell and nearly took a police officer with him.
"He fell over the cliff 40 feet onto the rocks below and almost pulled a police officer over with him," said paramedic Al Beebee.
The man had to be pulled out from under a rock about 100 yards into a wooded area.
It is still unclear whether or not the officer was injured.
The man suffered multiple contusions, bruises and was complaining of severe pack pain, according to paramedics.
He was still recovering at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital as of Tuesday morning.
No word yet if any charges will be filed.
