Ark. Secures $2M for EMT Trauma Training
Officials say the first check for the emergency medical services component of the new statewide trauma system in Arkansas has been written.
FORT SMITH, Ark. --
Officials said the first check for the emergency medical services component of the new statewide trauma system in Arkansas has been written.
The program is designed to designate a number of trauma centers across the state and to provide current first responders with better trauma training.
Organizers said they now have more than $2 million available to help train EMS providers in trauma education and readiness.
There are 117 licensed ambulance service providers in Arkansas now eligible for grant funding.
One state official said Arkansas could expect to see a significant number of lives saved every year, once the system is operational.
