Ariz. Paramedic Attempts In-Flight Infant Rescue
A baby is dead after it stopped breathing while on a Denver-bound United Airlines flight.
MILWAUKEE --
A 2-month-old boy is dead after he stopped breathing while on a Denver-bound United Airlines flight.
Milwaukee County deputies said the flight was diverted to Milwaukee at about 4 p.m. in response to the incident.
Investigators said a paramedic from Scottsdale, Ariz., was sitting next to the parents and attended to the infant while in-flight. He began CPR and continued it until the plane landed in Milwaukee, according to the medical examiner's office.
Once on the ground, paramedic units responded but could not save Jensen Provencial.
Deputies said both parents were with the child during the incident.
Jensen had just been discharged from University of Michigan Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Wednesday and the family was headed home to Mission, S.D.
The baby was born with a congenital heart defect.
