OMAHA, Neb. --
A Lincoln firefighter was arrested Friday on suspicion of stealing narcotics from an ambulance, according to Lincoln police.
Police charged John E. Massie, 28, with possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor theft.
Massie is also a paramedic.
Police said that they started investigating the first case in early July.
Fire officials came to them after a firefighter on duty at Station 1 appeared to be suffering from some type of narcotic reaction, said Lincoln Police Chief Tom Casady.
Investigators began looking at another employee following a tip from the public.
