DENVER --
At least 14 people were injured when a Regional Transportation District bus hit a pole at Northfield Avenue and Dallas Street in Denver.
There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, which was reported shortly after 7 a.m.
Police said the RTD driver -- 55-year-old Linda Davis -- may have fallen asleep at the wheel. Davis was ticketed for careless driving, according to Leslie Branch-Wise, a Denver police department spokeswoman.
All of those injured -- including the bus driver -- were transported by ambulance to four local hospitals. None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.
RTD is conducting its own investigation to determine what happened.
