An ambulance and a car collided at 43rd Street and Forest Home Avenue Wednesday afternoon in Milwaukee.
A car slammed into the ambulance, knocking it over and tearing off most of the front of the car.
The patient was transported to St. Luke's, which is where the ambulance was headed.
Business owners and neighbors said they see lots of crashes, and drivers are often confused by the flow of traffic and the number of stop lights at the intersection.
That may have been what caused the ambulance crash.
"Our crew was transporting a patient, and we were actually using the lights and siren. And we had a green light. And as our driver went through the intersection, they were struck in the right rear," said James Baker of Curtis Ambulance.
The city said it is considering a redesign for the intersection, but no timetable has been set.
