Florida Ambulance Overturns on I-95; Driver Pinned
The crash involved an American Medical Response ambulance.
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. --
All northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Boynton Beach have reopened after an ambulance overturned on an exit ramp, pinning the driver.
The crash, involving an American Medical Response ambulance, occurred on the northbound ramp to Interstate 95 at Gateway Boulevard.
Witnesses told WPBF News 25 that the ambulance driver apparently missed the exit and swerved to try and get off, clipping a car that caused the ambulance to overturn.
The driver's arm was pinned under the ambulance. He was airlifted to Delray Medical Center, where his condition was not immediately known.
No patients were in the ambulance at the time.
The exit ramp remains closed.
