It is so easy to nominate your agency for the EMS Magazine Gold Service Award. Just tell us, in 1000 words or less, why your service deserves to win the Gold Service Award.

The Gold Service Award honors both a paid and a volunteer service each year for dedication, teamwork and commitment to EMS. Achievement areas include:

  • Innovations in prehospital care
  • EMS system/program upgrades
  • EMS-related certification of personnel
  • Worker safety and well-being programs
  • Innovations in EMS education and training
  • Medical community involvement
  • Injury- and illness-prevention projects
  • Public-education projects.

Each winning agency receives $1,000, plus free travel, lodging and registration for one representative at the EMS EXPO/NAEMT Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Ga, October 26--30, 2009, where the award will be presented. The winners will be announced in the October 2009 issue of EMS Magazine.

Gold Service Award Contest Rules

Nominations for entries must be submitted as typed, written or electronic MS Word documents.

Nominations must be received by July 31, 2009.

Entries will be reviewed by EMS Magazine personnel ("the Judges"). The winner will be chosen by the editor of EMS Magazine. The decisions of Judges are final in all matters relating to the contest.

A winner will be chosen based on proven abilities, as described in the entry, in the following areas:

  • Innovations in prehospital care
  • EMS system/program upgrades
  • EMS-related certification of personnel
  • Worker safety and well-being programs
  • Innovations in EMS education and training
  • Medical community involvement
  • Injury- and illness-prevention projects
  • Public-education projects.

The winners will be featured in the October 2009 issue of EMS Magazine. There is no retail value associated with this portion of the prize. Additional prizes include, but are not limited to:

  • $1,000
  • Plaque
  • Three-day/three-night trip for the winners to attend the award ceremony at EMS EXPO (October 26--30, 2009, Atlanta, Ga). Trip includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodation and three-day core program registration. Total estimated retail prize value not to exceed $4,000.

The winners will be chosen by August 31, 2008, and announced at EMS EXPO, October 26--30, 2009.

Employees of EMS Magazine and their immediate family members are NOT eligible to win the Gold Service Award.
