Denver Ambulance Stolen While Paramedics Respond to 911 Call

Commerce City police have arrested a man suspected of stealing an ambulance at the scene of a emergency call Monday morning.
The Rural Metro Ambulance was taken at about 8:30 a.m. while paramedics were at a home in the 1600 block of Joliet Street in Aurora on a 911 call, police said.
The keys were in the vehicle so the thief jumped in and started driving erratically, police said. The ambulance crashed on Highway 2 in Commerce City about a half hour later.
No patient was on board at the time of incident.
The Commerce City Police Department took the man into custody at the Snowy Range Mobile Home Park just before 9 a.m. His name has not been released.
Nothing was taken from the ambulance and the vehicle had minor damage.
