A 49-year old woman died of a heart attack this week while waiting in a Waukegan emergency room.

Beatrice Vance went to the Vista East Hospital late Friday night complaining of chest pains.
Her daughter, Monique, said hospital officials took her mother's information, and then told her to wait.
She did, and after some time, Vance went into cardiac arrest in the waiting room.
Efforts to save her failed.
In a statement, VMC said, "Procedures are in place to ensure patients in our ER are triaged, screened and treated to stabilize any emergency medical conditions. The hospital is conducting an internal review regarding this patient's care."
