Louisiana Paramedic Killed After Being Pinned Between EMS Trailer and Car
A Cameron Parish EMS paramedic died Friday afternoon after winds knocked over an office trailer, pinning him between the building and a car.
CAMERON, La. -- A Cameron Parish EMS paramedic died Friday afternoon (Oct. 9) after winds knocked an office trailer off of its blocks, pinning him between the building and a car, according to KPLC-TV.
Paramedic Thomas Widcamp, 38, was airlifted to a Lake Charles hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"He was the first person I saw at work and the last person I saw when I left," EMS Director Byron Broussard told the news station. "Thomas' loss will be felt in many ways by many people, including the people of Cameron Parish."
Widcamp leaves behind a wife and four children.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
