Maryland Ambulance in Serious Crash

Two men, both paramedics, were flown to an area trauma center as a precaution.


BOWIE, Md. --

An ambulance was involved in a serious collision Friday morning in Prince George's County.

The collision happened at about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of routes 197 and 301.

Authorities said the ambulance from the Pointer Ridge Fire and Emergency Medical Services station was en route to a home in the Bowie area where a senior woman reportedly was having difficulty breathing. The ambulance collided with another vehicle.

Two men, both paramedics, were flown to an area trauma center as a precaution. A woman was taken to an area hospital by ambulance. All injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening.

Authorities said there was significant damage to the ambulance.

An ambulance from a Bowie Fire and EMS station completed the call to the woman in Bowie.
