Two paramedics vacationing at the Snowbird ski resort Saturday night helped save the life of a boy who nearly drowned.

About 8:30 p.m., the boy, 8, jumped in a pool at the Cliff Lodge but did not surface, said Salt Lake County sheriff's Lt. Chris Bertram. The boy's friend went for help and brought back his own father, who dove in the pool and retrieved the drowning boy. A combat medic who recently returned from an overseas assignment and a Florida paramedic who were in a hot tub nearby performed CPR on the unconscious boy and resuscitated him. He was flown by helicopter to Primary Children's Medical Center in stable condition.
