It is with great sadness that American Medical Response announces the loss of one of our paramedics.
It is with great sadness that American Medical Response announces the loss of one of our paramedics. Ryan Ostendorf was driving to work last night (12-5-05) and was killed in a head-on collision in east Shawnee County. The vehicle which struck him veered left of center. It appears that poor visibility and ETOH were contributing factors.
Ryan worked for AMR for over five years while he attended Kansas University. He had just received word of his acceptance to Medical School. Ryan was an excellent medic and was well liked by all who knew him. We will all struggle with his death and miss him dearly.
American Medical Response would like to honor our fallen brother in a memorial service on December 12th, 2005 at Grace Episcopal Cathedral at 1430 hours.
Grace Episcopal Cathedral is located at 701 SW 8th (8th and Polk) in Topeka, Kansas.
We request of those attending that you wear your department's uniform for the service.
For those who are bringing emergency vehicles, we will have special parking at the front of the cathedral for you. We request that the vehicle have its emergency lights running prior to the service, and just after the service. This parking will take place on 8th street.
