Indiana Ambulance Carrying Patient Struck by Truck

No serious injuries were reported in the crash.


A privately owned ambulance carrying a patient to Frankfort, Ind. was struck by a motorist Thursday night, according to The Journal and Courier.

The collision occurred on Veterans Memorial Parkway shortly after 6 p.m. after a Ford flatbed pickup truck driving northbound veered left and struck the southbound ambulance from Keeney Ambulance and Transport Service, Lafayette Police Officer Will Carpenter told the newspaper.

A portion of the left side of the ambulance was torn off after being clipped and debris from the wreck were strewn for several hundred feet along the road.

No serious injuries were reported in the crash.

The 18-year-old driver of the crash was cited for driving left of center and the road was shut down for more than an hour.
