A woman runs as waves crash onto the shore as very few people on the beach endure blowing sand as waves sweep the strand at Hermosa Beach, Calif., Sunday, April 1, 2012. A spring storm that battered Northern California Saturday continues to move south, dumping snow in the mountains above Los Angeles and bringing big waves to beaches. National Weather Service meteorologist Bill Forwood says swells of 15 feet were reported at Hermosa Beach. Winds gusted to 55 mph and accumulating snow at elevations above 4,500 feet prompted the weather service to issue a winter weather advisory for the mountains of northern Los Angeles County.
