2012 National EMS Memorial Bike Ride Underway

For the opening ceremony in Boston, the riders were given a warm sendoff from Boston EMS Chief James Hooley, as well as representatives from area EMS services.


National EMS Memorial Bike Ride, May 21, 2012 – The National EMS Memorial Bike Ride (NEMSMBR) has begun the 2012 routes, starting on Saturday May 19, in Paintsville, KY (Kentucky route), and Boston, MA (East Coast route).

For the opening ceremony in Boston, the riders were given a warm sendoff from Boston EMS Chief James Hooley, as well as representatives from area EMS services.

“We’ve had a great kickoff to the 2012 ride” says Tim Perkins, NEMSMBR Public Information Officer. “We have a good number of new riders this year, and we’re so excited to welcome them into the NEMSMBR family.”

The East Coast ride went through portions of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York over the first three days, with the group going through New York City on May 22. The Kentucky route has traveled through both Kentucky and Virginia.
