Application Period Underway for FY2012 AFG
FEMA is accepting applications for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program until July 6.
FEMA is holding the application process for the FY2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.
The application period opened on June 11 at 8 a.m. ET and will close on July 6 at 5 p.m. ET.
Guidance materials provided by FEMA will help departments in the application process.

The primary goal of the AFG is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and non-affiliated emergency medical service organizations.
Since 2001, AFG has helped firefighters and other first responders obtain equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training, and other resources needed to protect the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards.
