Controversial Facebook Comment Posted by Miss. Firefighter Revealed
Columbus Firefighter Brad Alexander resigned after posting a comment critical of a young mother.
A Mississippi newspaper has uncovered the actual message a firefighter recently posted to Facebook.
Columbus Firefighter Brad Alexander resigned after posting a comment on his Facebook page about the mother of a toddler who was hit by a car, according to The Packet.
Columbus Police Officer Lance Luckey and Columbus Firefighters Damon Estes and Eric Minga were suspended for 30 days for clicking 'like' to Alexander's post.
The newspaper published the following as Alexander's original post: “People never cease to amaze me. Mama yelling oh my baybee my baybee….Hey you stupid ass, where was babyeees mama at while your 2 year old was getting hit by a truck. Mama needs to have her guts cut so there wont be anymore babies. Freeloading ignorant woman.”
The suspended men reportedly told officials they clicked 'like' on their cellphones, and didn't see Alexander's entire post until they went onto a computer, the paper reported.
After the veteran of 12 years resigned, he apologized for making the statement about the teenage mother saying: "Hello all, I made a very poor decision on making a comment here the other day. Please let me apologize for my disrespect and stupidity. To all my co-workers who this reflected on, I am deeply sorry. Also to all the citizens I swore to serve. Please allow me to earn your trust again."
