Two UK Medics Hurt in Ambulance Wreck

News Nov 14, 2012

AN ambulance was in collision with a car in Grimsby town centre yesterday.

The ambulance was in collision with a silver Citroen C3, on Bethlehem Street, at about 11am.

Phil Morris, communications manager at East Midlands Ambulance Service, confirmed the ambulance was travelling with its sirens and blue lights on when the incident happened.

He said the patient in the rear was uninjured, although two members of staff, who collided with each other on impact, suffered injuries.

The car driver was not injured. A spokesman for Humberside police said the road was temporarily blocked and buses were diverted away from the scene until the road was fully cleared - even after it was deemed passable by other traffic.
