New York EMT Killed in Wreck Suffered Heart Attack

The New York EMT killed in an ambulance crash suffered a heart attack.

A coroner announced late Monday that Eric Monty, 45, with Champlaine EMS, possibly suffered the heart attack while driving the ambulance that was on the way to a hospital with a patient, according to WPTZ.

The ambulance veered off the road and struck a drainage ditch and a guide wire to a utility pole before ending up on an embankment.

A New York trooper said there were no skid marks, and believes Monty suffered a medical emergency which caused him to lose control.
