Civilian, Paramedic Injured in Ore. Ambulance Crash

A civilian was injured and a paramedic was hospitalized following a crash involving a car and a Metro West ambulance on Thursday in Clackamas County.

The ambulance was returning from an area transport when it collided with a Honda sub-compact vehicle shortly after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Knights Bridge Road and South Barlow Road, according to a news released from the Canby Fire District.

The ambulance was sent into a power pole, sending energized electrical lines down onto the unit.

When emergency crews arrived, two paramedics were out of the vehicle providing car to the civilian victim.

The female victim was transported by ambulance to Oregon Health & Science University with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

One of the paramedics was evaluated and transported to a hospital for a possible injury.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
