Ala. Man Steals Ambulance; Taking Horse Failed

An apparently intoxicated man who stole an ambulance outside an Alabama hospital was less successful when he later tried to switch to four-legged transportation.

After abandoning the ambulance, police said Matthew Todd tried to steal a horse. But, he lacked the proper saddling skills.

WAFF noted that when that mode of transportation failed, he stole another vehicle, but wrecked it before reaching home. So, he is accused of taking another.

The next day he went to the hospital for treatment, and was arrested.

Boaz medics said the incident started when Todd jumped off the cot in the ER, and took off. They soon saw their ambulance heading toward a highway.
