93-Year-Old Killed in Crash With Ohio Ambulance
An elderly driver was killed Tuesday morning when he pulled out of a gas station and was struck by an oncoming ambulance, reports The Columbus Dispatch.
The ambulance had been transporting a patient in non-emergency mode, Newark Assistant Fire Chief Patrick Connor told the media. The ambulance struck the 93-year-old driver’s Grand Marquis at about 10:25 a.m.
The paper reports that the four occupants of the Critical Life ambulance were also injured, and one of the crew members was flown to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in Columbus with a head injury. The others onboard were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.
