A Florida man accused of punching a medic after pounding on the hood of a fire truck Sunday is under arrest.
Gainesville Police told The Gainsville Sun that Preston Porter Calkins, 24, ran into the path of a fire truck that was responding to another call.
After pounding on the hood, police said he jumped on the side running board and cussed the medics inside.
When an off-duty paramedic stopped to check on personnel, police told reporters Calkins charged at the open truck window, cussed and punched him multiple times in the back of the head.
The on-duty medics eventually managed to stop the attack.
Calkins was arrested on charges of assault and battery during burglary.
