Ambulance Catches Fire, Burns Tennessee EMS Station

An ambulance parked in the garage bay of an EMS station in Montgomery County, Tenn. caught fire Wednesday morning.

The fire began in the cab of the unit at Clarksville EMS Station No. 23 on Highway 149 around 9:45 a.m., according to The Leaf Chronicle.

Fire crews were able to contain the blaze within 20 minutes, but the flames quickly consumed the ambulance and the inside of the bay.

Two crewmembers were in the building at the time of the fire and one was transported to a local hospital after complaining about problems breathing.

With the station and ambulance sidelines, Clarksville EMS has stationed a spare ambulance and crew at EMS Station No. 27.
