Paramedics Plus Names New Vice President Over Ambulance Service

Paramedics Plus, an ambulance division of the East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System, has named Mark Postma vice president.


Paramedics Plus, an ambulance division of the East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System, has named Mark Postma vice president.

Postma has served as the chief operating officer for the Paramedics Plus Sunstar operation in Pinellas County, Fla., since 2004. Under his leadership Sunstar received the 2009 Governor’s Sterling Award, the highest recognition possible for performance excellence awarded by the state of Florida. Sunstar employs 500 team members, covers 280 square miles and a population of almost one million people. Postma is the immediate past chairman of the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services. All current Paramedics Plus operations are CAAS accredited.

Postma has been involved in EMS management positions in Iowa and Fla., for more than 25 years. He started his career as a paramedic and dispatcher. Postma earned a master’s of science degree in health services administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill., and a bachelor of arts degree from Western Illinois University.

Paramedics Plus currently provides emergency services to residents of Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Okla., Pinellas County, Fla., Fort Wayne, Ind., and in November will begin providing services to Alameda, Calif.
