FDNY Receives $17,000 for New Technology and Exercise Equipment

HUB International Northeast and the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company partnered to award the grant

HUB International Northeast and the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company have partnered to award a grant of more than $17,000 to the FDNY to purchase equipment to enhance the training, technology and physical fitness of its members.

The grant funds will be used to purchase a digital camera, laptop computer, and other technology for Engine Company 324/Division 14.

This purchase will allow firefighters to make customized in-house presentations that deal specifically with the buildings, hazards and environments in their response area.

Grant funds will also be used to purchase equipment used to maintain tools in the firehouse, and for use in emergency situations.  In addition, this generous grant will be used to purchase new exercise equipment for the firehouse, including an elliptical machine and treadmill.

The Fireman’s Fund has awarded over $540,000 to the New York City Fire Department since December 2006. This is the fifth grant HUB International Northeast has awarded the FDNY.
