The Patient Assist Lift is designed to reduce risk of back injury
Winnsboro, TX -- According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, March 2004, healthcare workers are at greatest risk for musculoskeletal injuries at work.
The new Transfer PAL by iTec Mfg is designed to transfer patients to and from beds, cots and stretchers. Not only does it make transferring easier, it decreases the risk of back injuries during transfers.
The Transfer PAL features closed-cell foam padding for patient comfort and a hard shell that will slide easily against all types of material. The handles enable staff to utilize a trapeze grip that allows for proper body mechanics. The design of the Transfer PAL eliminates the problem of patients rolling backwards on the sheet.
"We've given staff the ability to greatly reduce strain when transferring, that's why we believe this unique device to be superior to a sheet," said Michael Wilson, designer and owner.
The Transfer PAL is available in regular and bariatric sizes.
