Motionbrite Brings "New Light" to Emergency Vehicles
Animation and illumination establish an alert for trucks and cars
Awareness is key to getting attention, yet when accidents occur many can find it difficult being alert of what activity is happening in front of them. We see bright, flashing lights on emergency vehicles, though we struggle to notice how far away they may be.
Motionbrite has created the solution for emergency vehicle visibility -- magnetic signs, which animate and illuminate and can be easily applied to any metal surface on the vehicle.
"By creating this technology, we can grab the attention of the drivers around the emergency vehicle and make them more aware of what kind of emergency vehicle is approaching them," stated Brandon Ackerman, Vice President of Motionbrite.
"We are looking to replace reflective signs which are only useful when light is shined on them, with our technology which is almost the same thickness and illuminates automatically."
The panel is made of a technology called bioluminescent, which is a paper-thin sign created with allege and static electricity to establish light and animation. The wire runs from the magnetic sign into the vehicle and plugs directly into the cigarette outlet, or can be hardwired into the vehicles warning system. During the day the panel looks like a regular full-color sign, yet when night approaches the technology comes to life.
Motionbrite started using this technology in public safety for first responder volunteer vehicles. "We found that volunteer fire/rescue personnel are spending an extensive amount of money on warning lights for their vehicles, and our technology is more affordable then a regular LED light," said Ackerman.
In addition to magnetic signs, the company has also developed safety vests using the same technology for safety personnel.
