Vertex Standard now offers a new series of digital land mobile radio communications based on two-slot Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) 6.25 kHz efficient digital technology. The licensed conventional digital series is designed for users seeking to optimize their bandwidth and improve audio clarity and range.

Vertex Standard's digital radio technology is based on the DMR protocol. This protocol is the ETSI DMR Tier 2 open standard which assures long-term stability and provides a choice of interchangeable digital equipment to maximize productivity and return on investment.

The digital radio series will feature a new portable, mobile and repeater and will operate in analog or digital mode without future software upgrades required. This flexibility will enable users to evolve their two-way communications platform one radio at a time, one channel at a time or the entire system.

"We understand our customers are evolving their radio communications needs seeking solutions that make them more productive and are more cost-effective. Vertex Standard is committed to developing digital communications to bring customers a new choice in TDMA digital technology that provides double the capacity on existing licensed channels, increased coverage, longer battery life and superior audio performance," said Mike Gray, North America LMR Sales Vice President.

VX-500/4600 Series mobile two-way radios offer expanded signaling and security features built-in. They offer 2-tone and 5-tone encode/decode and MDC-1200 encode/decode along with voice inversion encryption built-in. "Vertex Standard is committed to providing feature-rich, enhanced mobile radios that give users added communications flexibility," said Gray. "Our new VX-4500/4600 mobile radios will provide the dependable performance users need in mobile radio communications combined with added value in expanded signaling, security and safety capabilities built-in with wide band coverage."

The VX-450 Series of portable two-way radios provides expanded safety and security functions for cost-effective communications. It features Emergency and Lone Worker safety alerts built-in with Man Down alert and intrinsically safe radios as options. Channel announcement, 700 mW loud audio output and VOX capabilities are also built-in for expanded responsiveness and productivity. Additional features offered include voice inversion encryption, MDC-1200 encode/decode and 2-tone/5-tone encode/decode built-in. Frequency ranges include 134-174 MHz, 400 - 470 MHz and 450 - 512 MHz. The series includes a full keypad (16 key) and four-key models, both with eight-character alphanumeric display and 512 and 256 channel capacity respectively and a non-display option.
