Kenneth Burris Named Witt Associates CEO

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Witt Associates, a leader in public safety and crisis management, today announced that it has named Kenneth Burris as its new chief executive officer. Burris will succeed James Lee Witt who has been elevated to chairman of the Board.

Mr. Burris brings more than 35 years of extensive international emergency management experience to this position. Formerly as chief operating officer of Witt Associates, his previous responsibilities have included the day-to-day management of the firm's worldwide operations. Burris previously held the positions of former chief operating officer of the Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA), regional director of FEMA's Region IV, and chief operating officer of the U.S. Fire Administration.

"The Board has complete confidence that Ken is the right person to be our next CEO," said Witt on the promotion of Burris. "Ken has been very instrumental in the significant success and growth we have experienced this past year and we look forward to that continued leadership for years to come."

Mr. Witt in his new role as chairman and founder will continue to serve Witt Associates with his unique insights, vision and vast experience working with the firm to build the next generation of emergency management executives.
