These agencies have successfully completed PowerPhone’s quality assurance program and have validated their ongoing commitment to quality and accountability in emergency communications.
PowerPhone salutes the following accredited agencies:
Valley Shore Emergency Communications Inc., a regional 9-1-1 center based in Westbrook, Conn., achieved accreditation on March 21. Valley Shore handles the emergency call processing and dispatching needs for the towns of Chester, Deep River, Durham, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Middlefield, Old Lyme and Westbrook. The center has been in operation since 1976.
Yellow Ambulance of Daviess County, which provides medical transportation for all of Daviess County, received official accreditation on March 30. Located in Owensboro, Ky., Yellow Ambulance dispatches for a population of more than 100,000.
Jennings County 9-1-1, accredited on April 18, provides emergency service to the citizens of North Vernon and Jennings County, Ind. The center handles calls for the North Vernon Police Department, Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, Jennings County EMS Rescue 20, Indiana State Police, conservation officers, seven volunteer fire departments, PHI Dove Flight and more.
Lancaster Police Department, a dispatch service provider for police, fire and EMS, was accredited on June 6. Located in Lancaster, Ohio, the communications center serves a population of 39,000 and handles approximately 60,000 calls per year.
Total Response Accreditation serves as a mark of excellence in the emergency communications industry. With this important designation, these agencies have shown their commitment to the highest standard of care in the industry, as well as projected a more professional image within public safety and the community in which they serve.
PowerPhone’s Accreditation program is led by Professional Services Director, Cory Friend. Agencies seeking Total Response Accreditation commit to a formal accreditation process that includes a self-evaluation of call handling operations to establish a benchmark and the introduction of certified quality assurance standards that are appraised for compliance by PowerPhone. Over the course of several months, agencies review calls and protocol compliance, undergo rigorous documentation of policies and procedures, and participate in comprehensive quality assurance training.
These four accredited agencies play a crucial role in ensuring the public’s safety. PowerPhone once again extends its sincerest congratulations to Valley Shore, Yellow Ambulance, Jennings County and Lancaster PD on their accreditation achievements.
