KENNEBUNK, ME, July 26, 2012 - Limmer Creative, publisher of web and mobile applications for medical professionals, has announced the company's 10th and newest app, “ECG Challenge,” is now available on both the iTunes and Android markets.
Limmer Creative has partnered with leading EMS educator Dawn Altman, RN, EMT-P of the ECG Guru website to publish “ECG Challenge,” an app of over 150 ECG flashcards. Dawn’s three decades of clinical and teaching experience, in combination with Limmer Creative’s existing application platform, created the nexus of content and function for providers to hone their 3- or 4-lead ECG interpretation skills. The publication of ECG Challenge comes less than a year after publishing one their top selling apps, “12-Lead ECG Challenge,” in conjunction with leading EMS ECG expert and blogger Tom Bouthillet.
ECG Challenge presents ECG strips in a flashcard format with actual clinical presentations. The strips are all clinically acquired—not from rhythm generators—providing the best type of practice including real-life ECG challenges such as artifact, amplitude issues and wandering baseline. A wide variety of strips may be found in the app including rate disturbances, blocks, atrial fibrillation and ACLS rhythms. Expert explanations help users to understand and learn. The ECG Challenge app is ideal for anyone required to interpret 3- or 4-lead ECG tracings. Excellent for physicians, nurses, EMS personnel, residents and med students, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. All benefit from the high quality, detailed practice tracings included in the program.
All ECGs are expandable and movable for easy viewing on both mobile phones and tablets. Detailed rationale answers help to improve understanding and interpretation skills. A "hint" feature is available to help guide users to the correct answer if used. Strips may be viewed randomly or in groups of 10, 30 or 50 using the "Challenge Me" feature. Once confident with an interpretation, users can utilize the "Mastered it" functionality removing cards from view.
Priced at $4.99, ECG Challenge is a cost-effective and convenient way to sharpen ECG interpretation skills.
