Capnography can provide valuable, immediate information to help you care for your patients in respiratory distress. This presentation looks at waveform morphology for common respiratory disease states and how to use this information to guide decisions, indicate effectiveness of treatment, and optimize patient care.

John Puryear, EMT-P, has been a practicing medic in EMS since 1983 and a nationally recognized EMS educator since 1987, instructing EMT Basic, Intermediate and Paramedic courses. He has held positions as a Field Training Officer, Texas DSHS Instructor/Examiner, Education Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator and Assistant to the Medical Director for MedStar Ambulance in Fort Worth, TX.
