Drunk Mo. Man Crashes Into Ambulance

A Collinsville man was drunk when he crashed into an ambulance last week, according to charges.

David Grybinas, 23, was driving a 2004 Ford Edge eastbound on Interstate 44 near the South Kingshighway Boulevard exit at about 2 a.m. Friday when he ran into the back of the ambulance, charging documents filed Tuesday say. The impact caused the ambulance to skid into the median and injured the driver's shoulder, documents claim.

Grybinas, of the 1300 block of North Bluff Road, pulled over in the far right lane. A breath test showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.186 percent, more than twice Missouri's legal limit of .08 percent.

He faces a charge of DWI with physical injury to emergency personnel. No lawyer is listed for Grybinas, and he couldn't be immediately reached for comment. A photo wasn't available.
