A woman who stole an ambulance and took it on a ride in Oklahoma City was arrested early Saturday, police reported.
The woman, Erica Toledo, 22, was arrested and taken to the Oklahoma County jail.
About 1 a.m. Saturday, the ambulance was stolen from Southwest Integris Medical Center. It was located near Grand Boulevard and S Pennsylvania Avenue. A police officer tried to stop Toledo as she drove around the area for about 20 minutes until officers used stop sticks to puncture the tires. The woman was arrested near SW 24 and S Broadway. Toledo remained in jail Monday on a complaint of larceny of a vehicle with $2,000 bail.
Police said the keys had been left in the ambulance when it was stolen from the hospital.
It was not the first time an ambulance had been stolen in Oklahoma City.
In 2013, a 16-year-old boy stole an EMSA ambulance at SW 59 and S Western Avenue. The boy drove up to 79 mph before crashing into a utility pole and overturning. The boy was injured and taken to a juvenile detention center.
