AMR Partners with NASCAR to Honor Military and Responders

PRESS RELEASE

For the third year in a row, American Medical Response, part of the Global Medical Response (GMR) family of companies, is partnering with NASCAR to honor members of the United States Armed Forces, veterans, first responders and their families through NASCAR Salutes Refreshed by Coca-Cola. As part of the events, AMR will display the Salutes branding on NASCAR safety trucks and safety team helmets.

"It is an honor to help pay tribute to the American heroes who have served and are currently serving our country in the United States Armed Forces and on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic," said GMR Chief Operating Officer Ted Van Horne. "We recognize the service and dedication of our caregivers, many of whom are veterans, the brave men and women currently serving in the Armed Forces and the outstanding medical professionals that our teams have the honor of working alongside."

One of the veterans we are honoring is Gil Watkins, who began his career in aviation in the United States Army and eventually transitioned to GMR, accepting a position as an EMS pilot for Med-Trans Corporation. When Watkins transitioned from a military career to GMR, he found that he could use his military skills to serve others in a new capacity.

"I feel fortunate to be able to continue to utilize my aviation skills to serve others,” Watkins said. “The military taught me how to deal with many challenging situations and people, which I continue to face in my civilian role as a helicopter EMS pilot."

Through GMR, Watkins has also been provided opportunities he never thought possible. To read about Watkins and other stories of our veteran and military personnel, visit GMR's Hiring Heroes page.

AMR is the “Official Emergency Medical Services Partner of NASCAR” and will continue supporting NASCAR Salutes through the conclusion of the campaign on July 31.
