Oct. 28—Fox Friday unveiled the first trailer for Ryan Murphy's new procedural drama, 9-1-1, during Game 3 of the World Series.
Murphy, known for Glee, American Horror Story and American Crime Story, moves into the procedural world with a dramatic look at first responders who deal with a wide range of emergencies.
9-1-1, named for the emergency call number, "explores the high pressure experiences of police officers, paramedics and firefighters who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations," according to Fox's description of the series.
The top-flight cast includes Angela Bassett and Connie Britton, who have both acted in Murphy's AHS, and Peter Krause. Britton narrates the trailer, which is set to the song, Rescue Me.
The show, created by Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, is set to premiere in January on Fox.
