Wisc. Man Charged for Stealing, Crashing Va. Ambulance
Apr. 20—A Milwaukee man is charged with stealing an ambulance from a Virginia Beach rescue squad that he later overturned.
Police said Theodore E. Gasiorowski, 27, took an ambulance from Sentara Princess Anne Hospital while an emergency medical services crew dropped off a patient around 9:46 p.m. Thursday.
The EMTs notified police. Officers found Gasiorowski and the overturned ambulance 4 miles away, on the 2200 block of London Bridge Road near the Castleton neighborhood.
Gasiorowski was trapped in the ambulance, police said, and officers helped him out. He went to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Police charged Gasiorowski with grand larceny and driving under the influence.
He was taken to the Virginia Beach jail and released on bond Friday morning.
