Tex. Paramedic Arrested for Indecency with Child
July 31—An Austin paramedic was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of indecency with child sexual contact in Williamson County, according to jail records.
Bret Allen Burke, a paramedic for Austin-Travis County EMS, was in jail Tuesday afternoon on the charges, records show. A judge set his bail at $150,000.
One of these crimes was committed in August 2014 and the other was committed on Christmas 2017, jail records allege.
Officials have placed Burke on paid administrative leave, EMS officials said. Burke will not be doing any work for the EMS agency while he's on leave, officials said.
Burke's arrest affidavit is not yet publicly available at the Williamson County courthouse. The initial criminal investigation indicates that Burke did not commit these crimes while on duty, EMS officials said.
