New Stop the Bleed® Course Begins May 1

PRESS RELEASE

The development of the new Stop the Bleed Course was based on feedback received from instructors and participants and reflects the changing educational needs of the program. Highlights of this new course are:

  • Combined information to reduce the number of slides
  • Adjusted graphics and language for general public training

This new course replaces the Bleeding Control Basics Course and new course materials will be available within the Instructor Portal for use on or before May 1.

The Bleeding Control Basics Course will no longer be valid for instruction as of
May 31, 2019.

FAQs:

When can we start teaching the new course, when do we have to stop teaching the old course?
During the month of May, all instructors can teach either course. We know that you will be teaching many courses in May, and this is a great opportunity to become acclimated with the new materials. Both courses will be available on the portal during the month of May, however, Bleeding Control Basic Course will be removed from the Instructor Portal on May 31, 2019.

What do I do with my old materials?
We understand that you have older materials, please update materials from our website for your use beginning May 1. If you have printed materials (booklets, posters) please use these items until May 31st. New materials will be available for purchase from the Store in May.

Do I need to be retrained?
NO, this new course is simpler, easier to understand, and easier to present. Since you are already an instructor, we are confident that you will be able (and excited) to present this new course. Please go online beginning May 1 to review the new slides so you are ready to instruct your course.
